METHODOLOGY The activity is divided into three phases namely: Phase I is the conduct of the Key Informant Interview (KII) to our Women in Fisherfolks in Samara, Aringay, La Union as well as with our Service Providers from the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Punong Barangay of Barangay Samara, Aringay, La Union; Phase II is the Distribution of the Relief Packs and Load Allowance to the Participants; and Phase III is the Webinar that was conducted on the Results of the KII that was conducted. As to the First Phase, it was conducted on September 10, 2020 and the participants for the KII are women fisherfolks from Barangay Samara, Aringay, La Union – both organized or not organized, and those who engage in different parts of small scale fishing – pre production work, sewing fish nets, gathering, reef gleaning, work on or near the coast/shore, taking care of aquaculture fish (fish and seaweeds, those on board boats, those who dry and process fish, who sell in the markets; or are members of fisheries organizations or cooperatives; The interview questionnaire used in this research was adopted from the Central Office of the Commission on Human Rights and is divided into seven (7) categories with sub-questions in each category. The seven (7) categories are: (1) Roles; (2) Economic Participation and Recognition; (3) Access to information, resources, and food production; (4) Experiences of Marginalization, Stigma, Discrimination; (5) Trafficking and Gender-Based Violence; (6) Gender Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic; and (7) Recommendations. Moreover, in order to determine the situation of women fisher folks and women and girls at risk of trafficking and other forms of GBV during COVID-19 pandemic and new normal, the researcher utilized purposive sampling of the numbers of the participants who will attend the research activity where they will be the representative of the whole women fisher folks in the Barangay Samara, Aringay, La Union. RESULTS OF THE INTERVIEW OF THE WOMEN FISHER FOLKS The coordinators were able to interview fifteen (15) women fisher folks. The interviewees agreed to record the dialogue and agreed to disclose their identities if needed. 5 | Page
