Results, Analysis and Discussion
This chapter presents results (1) of a discusssion on the process
instituted by state actors in their respective institutions; (2) of case
studies on thirty-five (35) victim-survivors and the corresponding
discussion and analysis; (3) of a survey on eighty-nine (89) womensurvivors and its corresponding discussion and statistical interpretation;
(4) of case studies of six (6) victim-survivors at the Women’s Crisis Center
(WCC) and the correponding discussion and analysis.
With data triangulated, findings from questionnaires containing responses
of VAW survivors resulted in the succeeding narratives drawn as case
studies in the Women’s Crisis Center and five (5) barangays.
This section presents case studies of thirty-five (35) survivors from five
(5) barangays, six (6) documented and treated cases from the WCC, two
(2) legally filed cases and five (5) unreported cases.
I. Discussion on the Process Instituted by State Actors on Addressing
VAW Cases
State actors that are actively involved and on its own engaged in programs
on VAW have been invited as participants in the Focus Group Discussion.
As it was at the height of the pandemic, the FGD was done via the Zoom
Platform. This section presents some of the excerpts of the transcription
of the discussion.
The government agencies represented were the CHR RO9, DSWD RO9,
CSWDO, ZCLGU, and ZCPO-WCPD.
Each office/government agency representative was asked eight (8)
questions on process, duration, locale, culture-specifics, role (as
eyewitness, interveners, and as justice and peace stakeholders). Based on
findings, the respective processes at the different government agencies
and offices are in the succeeding paragraphs, as shown in the
corresponding figures and diagrams:
