Further, PSA reported on 03 May 2019 that, "results o f the National Disability Prevalence Survey (NDPS) showed that, in 2016, around 12 percent o f Filipinos age 15 and older experienced severe disability. Almost one in every tw o (47% ) experienced moderate disability while 23 percent with mild disability. Almost one-fifth (19% ) experience no disability." In the continuing endeavor of the government to improve the welfare o f the PWDs, this measure seeks to enhance the benefits of the PWDs as follows: • increase the proportion o f employment of PWDs both in government agencies and private sector; • provide incentives to employers who hire PWDs as regular employees; • provide P500.00 monthly stipend to PWDs; • provide free assistive technology services in the workplace; • provide free assistive devices and technologies to PWDs; • exempt PWDs from passport processing fee and other fees; This measure was approved on Third Reading by the House o f Representatives and was transmitted to this Chamber where it was sent to the Archives due to the adjournment of the 17th Congress.
