Complaint Source: FB Post of Bantay Bastos
Mr. Ramon Tulfo, a known media personality made an obscene statement directly against
a married woman via Facebook, who was then criticizing the said alleged GBV - perpetrator about
the fact that the former was able to get tested while frontliners and other ill persons were not
given access to COVID-19 testing kits.
Consequently, the CHR Gender Equality and Women's Human Rights Center (GEWHRC) has
motu proprio investigated the said incident and thereafter referred the case to its CHR NCR office
in order to send a letter to Mr. Tulfo seeking explanation on the said incident of which tantamount
to an online violence or sexual harassment. He submitted his response on the show cause letter
stating about justifications about his actions. The subject case is now for advisory inclusion.
