Objectives of the Capacity Building with Detention Officers: ● Enhance the knowledge of detention officers on the human rights-based approach to detention, through a review of the standards set under the Mandela rules; ● Provide an overview of the gendered nature of detention and to discuss the relevance of Bangkok Rules in ensuring gender sensitive and human rights-based approach to detention; ● Gather recommendations from detention officers and staff on how to improve the situation of women in detention including recommendations pertaining to the situation of detention facilities and to detention officers and staff; 4
