GBV CASE IN REGION XI
A five-month pregnant was detained in a police station somewhere in
Region XI notwithstanding the fact that she was already arrested and the inquest
proceedings was already completed last February 2020. Up to this date, she is still
detained in the said police station. Consequently, the case was referred to the
CHR-XI, with allegations that the said victim has suffered abuse in the police
station where she is currently detained. The Commission recommended for her
immediate transfer but until now she has not been transferred to the appropriate
penal institution.
