GBV CASE IN NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (NCR)
A 45-year-old registered midwife was allegedly harassed and threatened via text
and FB Messenger by her ex-boyfriend. The victim believes that the only person who
can do the said cyber harassment and threat against her is her ex-boyfriend. She
further alleged that her ex-boyfriend sent offensive messages about sex in 2019.
According to her, psychological examination has a long process, the reason why her
suppose complaint for Violence Against Women is being delayed. She feared for her,
her sister and 75-year-old mother’s safety as there are lots of random Facebook
accounts that are sending her threats and nasty messages.
The victim claimed that her ex-boyfriend is destroying her dignity as he had
spread anews in the neighborhood of the victim that he exploited her through sexual
intercourse and that he already abhorred her.
The Commission on Human Rights is providing legal counselling for the victimsurvivor.
