Introduction 1. The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women will hold its thirty-sixth session from 7 to 25 August 2006 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. During the session the Committee will consider the reports of the following countries: Cape Verde, Chile, China, Cuba, the Czech Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, Georgia, Ghana, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mexico, the Philippines, the Republic of Moldova and Uzbekistan. 2. Article 22 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women provides that the Committee may invite specialized agencies to “submit reports on the implementation of the Convention in areas falling within the scope of their activities”, giving an account of recent activities, policies and programmes in implementation of article 10 and related articles.
