GBV CASE IN REGION IV-A A 36 years old pregnant woman was disallowed by her company located in Region IV-A to return to work. According to the victim, her company does not allow pregnant women to return to work despite the fact that per Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Guidelines, vulnerable groups may go outside provided that they are out to work under the General Community Quarantine. She further alleged that the company disallows pregnant women without even giving any support for their living expenses during the Enhanced Community Quarantine or even now that they are under General Community Quarantine. According to her, they do not have any subsidy from the government as their company failed to qualify for the Department of Labor and Employment assistance program or even for the Social Security System assistance program for the displaced workers for the reason that their employer is a huge company with vast number of employees and is considered a large taxpayer. She claimed that she wants to earn a living considering that she is the breadwinner in the family. The victim has a three (3) years old daughter and is currently on her 4th month of pregnancy. Consequently, she sought the assistance of Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to conduct investigation on the alleged case. The case is already referred to CHR-IV for investigation.
