However she never felt alone because she knows her mother and family will always there to help her yet it was painful for her that even her mother experienced being insulted by her partner. “Planta ya gat yo caso con ele para jende mas le hace otra vez. Hace ya gat yo segura que jende mas le puede comigo hace palmadia comigo para manda comigo hace sentí duele (I will already file a case against him so that he won’t do it again to me one more time. I will really make sure he could no loner slap me just to hurt me).” S15 did not report the first incident by reason of being scared of being left by her partner whom she loves. Asked if she would file a case of VAW against him as a woman she said, “Puede, si hace le otra vez para manda comigo hace sentí duele. Ojala, masquin manda le comigo hace sentí duele, jende le man umid con mi tata’y nana (It is posible, if he does [this] again. Hopefully, even if he hurts me, he wouldn’t involve my father and my mother).” Researchers’ Observations: S15 is a physically, verbally and psychologically abused partner yet she gives her male partner “another chance” with the hope for a reconciliation, and eventually marriage to formally bind her to him. She is constantly berated by her husband and is sometimes the recipient of insults against her parents. Analysis: S15 is a verbally abused and consequently psychologically abused woman. But her love for her partner causes her to be indecisive in reporting her partner and the violence she suffers. She needs further counselling. Survivor 16 S16 is from Tumaga, who had been living in for 5 years and doesn’t have any child. The incident of violence she experienced was on July 2019 when they had a fight due of financial reasons and jealousy. He slapped her face until her face got swollen, boxed, kicked in any part of her body and strangled by her neck. Her first thoughts about what happened was why did her partner hurt her like that. Yet she never felt alone that she had her family that will support her and she thinks that whatever the problem is they can resolve it. “Magkakaroon lang siguro ako ng tapang kapag patuloy niyang gawin sa akin yun, total wala naman kaming anak para intindihin (I probably willl find the courage if he will continually do that [beating] to me, anyway, we don’t have a child to attend to).” 46
