2. SCORING FACILITY OF FISH VOOL
Vulnerability assessment using the Fish Vool involves a set of rubrics to guide the
assignment of scores for the exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity, and a
questionnaire that is necessary to fulfill the information needed for the scoring for each
parameter. Scores are all derived based from the information given by the key informants.
Key informants are the fisherfolks in the area to be assessed.
In Fish Vool, the questionnaire is designed in such a way that it coincides with the
rubrics. For every criterion in each parameter, it has a designated question from the
questionnaire as a basis for scoring. To easily determine the designation of each question
from the questionnaire to its criterion listed in the rubrics, see figures 2-8 for reference and
guide.
Criterion listed in the sensitivity parameter coincides with questions number 2 and 3
of the questionnaire (see figures 2 and 5). As for the exposure parameter, questions number
4 and 5 of the questionnaire coincides with the criterion listed in the exposure parameter
(see figures 3 and 6). Lastly, criterion listed in the adaptive capacity parameter coincides
with questions number 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, with some inclusions from question number 3 (see
figures 4, 5, 7 and 8). For the specific designation of each question and criterion involve,
labels are shown for every question and parameter (e.g. S1 of the sensitivity parameter
connotes to match with S1 of the questionnaire).
