A certain Jessica was arrested for exploiting her 11-year-old daughter and 14year-old niece in online sex shows. In order to arrest her, personnel of NBI-Anti Human
Trafficking Division pretended to be a client.
She admitted that in one online show, she earns approximately P 5,000.00. She
reasoned out that she is desperate as she has no longer money for food, loans and
utility bills.
According to NBI, before the lockdown, cybersex crimes are rampant.
Accordingly, Jessica was charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9775 or the Anti-Child
Pornography Act of 2009, R.A. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse,
Exploitation and Discrimination Act, and Republic Act No. 9208 or Anti-Trafficking in
Persons Act of 2003.
The minor victims are now under the custody of Department of Social Welfare
and Development
