of the interviewed women denied the existence of the organization. This indicates that they are not aware about the existence of the organization; firstly, because there is no a lot of activity being held by the organization. Secondly, is the lack of information dissemination in the Barangay. Moreover, this result is verified by the statement of Respondent I whereas she said “Wala pang orgnisasyon, merong bantay dagat, walang kababaihan” (There‟s no organization, there‟s coast guards but no women) In terms of the coast guard or fish warden organization, a great majority or 60% of the interviewees confirmed that there were no organization of coast guards in their barangay, while many (40%) of them said that there are organizations of coast guards. The statement of the interviewed women varies from there is an organization of coast guard and there is no organization of coast guard. With that being said, it can be assumed that the dissimilarity of their answers could possibly due to unawareness or lack of information dissemination within their barangay. As for the organization of fish warden based on the conducted interview, a great majority (67%) of the women interviewed said that there was no organization of fish warden in their community. This implies that a lot of people are not aware of the organization of coast guards partly because they were not informed about the organization. Moreover, many (33%) of the interviewed women said that there is an organization of fish warden. In this case, the result is closely similar to the existence of the organization of coast guard whereas the there is no consistency with the answers of the interviewed women. This can be an indication that there is a lack of information dissemination. In terms of the existence of women in an organization, a great majority (60%) of the women interviewed said that there were no women fisher folks in the said organization. Though, many or 40% of them said that there are members of women fisher folks in the SAMARA Fisher folks Organization. This implies that the women fisher folks were uncertain of the membership of SAMARA Fisher folks Organization. This was confirmed by some of the women that were interviewed when asked about the existence of the fisher folk’s organization and if there are members of women fisher folks in the said organization. Respondent E said “Hindi ako sigurado kasi hindi ako miyembro, panay lalaki” while, Respondent M said there is an organization but there are no women in the organization. 14 | Page
