Weeks after their wedding she experienced disturbing instances from her partner’s father who would kick me in the legs or at times, her feet while she was manually doing the laundry. Sometimes he would just pinch her at the side of her body. At times they would tease their child till they would cry and cry. In January 2018 she told her partner about these incidents and he got angry, and he started hurting her. He defended his father and other family members. This led to frequent quarrels and he would slap her face for her answering back and for her nagging to not let his father touch her and her children. She reported to the pólice which in turn, following initial investigation, brought her to the WCC. The protection offered to her by the WCC was from her husband physical violence, and from his father physical violence that might lead to sexual violence.
