Respondents
The study has had two types of respondents:
a) Among State Actors
There have been respondents to this study that are active state actors in
addressing gender and consequently VAW issues: those from the CHR,
DSWD, ZCPO, and the City Government.
A second level of respondents are judges from Regional Trial Courts who
responded to legal questions and stated their respective professional
opinión.
A third level is the psychoneurologist, a state doctor, who was identified
through existing court records as state witness giving profesional opinión
on psychological violence-triggered VAW cases.
b) Among Victim-Survivors
There were three (3) groups of respondents among the women-survivors
participating herein:
(1) those from the barangays who willingly
responded to the survey questionnaires, (2) those from the barangays who
were willing interviewees, and (3) those who were from the Women’s Crisis
Center who were interviewed.
Research Instruments
A survey questionnaire, a Discussion Guide, and five (5) key interview
guides were used to gather data for this research investigation.
The first instrument used was a Survey Questionnaire intended for VAW
Victim-Survivors and was divided into four parts: The first part was to
measure whether the respondent was indeed suffering violence; the second
part was to measure the nature of the violence that regularly occurred; the
third part was to measure the extent of the violence; and the last part had
free-wheeling/essay questions on the respondents’ reaction in response to
the violence incurred upon her (Carreon, 2020).
The Focus Group Discussion for state actors was set to raise the following:
1. Inquiry on Process, as to the flow of their respective office
procedure, if any, on cases involving violence against women (and
Children) from Filing of Report;
