The latter (2015) had warm weather, considered summer but had the episodes of rain (starting). There was also noted an area with stagnant water, caused by erring contractor who installed incomplete culverts just for show (inspection) and was a potential cause. Diarrhea was picked up in 2005/2014, both happening during the rainy seasons; the latter year was characterized by continuous rains accompanied by flooding (Typhoon Senyang). They recalled that it was the children and the elderly – (20 cases occurring during a span of 2 weeks). Disease was believed to be transmitted due to exposure to the elements as families were living in tents and evacuation centers during that time vacating from the floods. There were also non weather parameters which were believed to have agg ravated the condition: drinking water from untreated spring water/ contaminated food handling; Garbage being thrown anywhere which is believed to have exacerbated water borne disease. A complementary table below shows the initial adaptive responses which was recollected during the event of the disease. Of note is the cross sector response of allied agencies like the municipal social welfare department (MSWD) that did a daycare center-based feeding and deworming program.
