It is multifactorial in origin, which includes generic predisposition, poor lifestyle, high salt intake, smoking, Diabetes Mellitus, age and increased sympathetic activity. Transient Ischemic Attack is due to disturbance of brain function secondary to microvascular occlusions causing temporary deficiency in the brain's blood supply. Symptoms are similar to stroke but are temporary and reversible. Risk factors include age. Hypertension, Carotid Artery Disease, smoking, Diabetes Mellitus, obesity, alcohol, all of which are not work-related. Patient is presently unfit for duty for approximately four (4) months.
