68.
We recognize with deep concern the ongoing manifestations of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and
related intolerance, including violence, against Roma/
Gypsies/Sinti/Travellers and recognize the need to develop
effective policies and implementation mechanisms for their
full achievement of equality;
69.
We are convinced that racism, racial discrimination,
xenophobia and related intolerance reveal themselves in a differentiated manner for women and girls, and can be among
the factors leading to a deterioration in their living conditions, poverty, violence, multiple forms of discrimination,
and the limitation or denial of their human rights. We recognize the need to integrate a gender perspective into relevant policies, strategies and programmes of action against
racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in order to address multiple forms of discrimination;
70.
We recognize the need to develop a more systematic
and consistent approach to evaluating and monitoring racial
discrimination against women, as well as the disadvantages,
obstacles and difficulties women face in the full exercise and
enjoyment of their civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights because of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance;
71.
We deplore attempts to oblige women belonging to
certain faiths and religious minorities to forego their cultural and religious identity, or to restrict their legitimate
expression, or to discriminate against them with regard to
opportunities for education and employment;
