Complaint Source: Twitter Account under the User Name “@erlamae”
A certain Twitter account user named "erlamae" after her post was retweeted by Ms. Bella
Padilla, an actress calling the attention of PNP and AFP in Twitter reposted in a separate tweet her
experience of harassment by the checkpoint guards (allegedly some AFP / PNP personnel) in front
of their subdivision's gate. She stated in her tweet that when she was in the checkpoint area as
she was supposed to buy medicine for her mother, she then presented her driver's license and her
quarantine pass. After the same were checked, one of the checkpoint guards, allegedly military
personnel told the victim that his number is inserted in her driver's license.
When she went again outside and she was again in the checkpoint area, she was asked to
remove her helmet but she refused because the procedure in the said checkpoint area is causing
her delay taking into consideration of the hot weather that time. However, one of the checkpoint
guards insisted and told the victim "Oh Bakit? Pulis Ako!".
The Commission on Human Right's Legal Office sent a letter to National Capital Region
Police Office (NCRPO) about the incident of which the former is still waiting for the latter's
feedback.
