Analysis: S35’s responses show that her husband has been inflicting
physical and emotional pain on her for more than two decades already.
The marital quarrels have been part of their daily lives, some being petty
arguments, and others having led to serious disagreements that were
accompanied with physical violence. She bore all the emotional and
physical pain, and just cried on her own. Her concern was the
embarrassment to neighbors, relatives and even her own children.
