“Jende gaha tamen ginda con ese punto. Reza yo para su cambio y jende le
hace otra vez (I don’t think it will reach that point. I pray for his change
and he would not do [the violence] once more).”
Researchers’ Observations: S21 tolerated the physical violence she has
been receiving from her husband of 8 years. She is not conscious of her
having been a victim of psychological abuse and is at times defending her
husband when her friends talk to her about leaving him.
Analysis: S21 has been psychologically and emotionally abused more than
she was physically hurt by her husband. Her emotions for her husband
and children keep her making a firm decisión for her and her children’s
future.
