Love Yourself, Inc.
LoveYourself is volunteer-driven and has partner community-based organizations
around the country. During the pandemic, volunteers were utilized to create online shows to
continue spreading awareness of sexual health and mental wellness initiatives. These
infotainment activities enable our organization to link awareness with action to access our
services, which continue to operate for the community even with COVID-19.
In April, we held the Rise As One: An Online Concert where we, together with our
partner Champion Community Centers, and movers in the HIV advocacy, including Miss
Universe Titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, have banded together to send a
message of hope and love amidst the pandemic. In the concert, we highlighted protecting the
rights and the health of all people can, in fact, help control the virus. We urge people to act
with compassion, not stigma, and discrimination. We informed the viewers that great strides
were made to suppress the spread of HIV and save more people from it because it's not a
death sentence anymore. By taking your medications regularly, one can live a full life even
with HIV. We also stressed the availability of HIV combination prevention methods in the
country, such as condoms and lubricants, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) or a pill an HIV
negative person takes before being potentially exposed to HIV, Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
(PEP) or a pill an HIV negative person can take right after a potential exposure to HIV, and
adherence to treatment of PLHIV that can result in undetectable viral load status or a condition
where the HIV can no longer be transmitted to another person.
