Fellowships
5 fellowships were granted to Jamaican women, representing a sum of $38,100. Fields of study
include: the role of women in society, museum studies, communication and, molecular biology. Two
Regular Programme (FBK), one UNESCO/Suzanne Mubarak/Japan-Egypte and, one
UNESCO/L’Oreal co-sponsored fellowship for young women in life science.

Ratification of the Convention Against Discrimination in Education
Mauritius has ratified the UNESCO Convention against Discrimination in Education (20/08/1970).
Constitution: Date of adoption/date of entry into force: 12 March 1968 (Please note that the text
provides for neither free nor compulsory primary education).
