Also, we sent out monitoring letter regarding compliance on section 12 (Protection from Violence) and section 18 (Women in the military, police and other related services). This office drafted the monitoring letter to be personally delivered to each police station, jails and/or lock-up cells that we will be visiting in the year. However, we are still waiting feedback from them since they may have received just before the lockdown. However, we would like to inform the CGEWHR that LGU-Valencia City where the Office of the City Mayor positively responded to the communication which was sent out last year re: Human Rights Advisory on the Prohibition of Home-Birthing and Imposing Penalties thereto‘. The City Mayor Azecena P. Huervas stated in the letter-reply that ‗we shall help to discuss and disseminate to our constituents and communities here in our City’. In the last part the Mayor added, ‗We thank you for your zeal in advancing the cause of human rights in the country’. Further, we also requested data from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-X re Barangay VAW Desk Functionality for 2020 however, their office has yet to finalized the 2020 consolidated report this May which is yet to be updated. DILG-X have provided us again the 2019 Consolidated Assessment Report that we also used during the GBV referral mechanism focus group discussion (FGD) and the Regional GBV Summit held last November 25, 2019.
