The Commission on Human Rights Regional Office VIII tapped Terre Des
Hommes Netherlands (TdH) as partner organization in conducting the Sectoral
Monitoring of Women Fisherfolks and Women and Girls at Risk of Trafficking.
TDH is a non-government organization with significant work in the protection
of girl children and community women in the province of Eastern Samar. TDF
works with the provincial government of Eastern Samar in crafting policies on
Gender and Development.
In view of the restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a
combination of face-to-face and remote (through phonecalls) Key Informant
Interviews were conducted. The sectoral monitoring was conducted in
Borongan City, Salcedo, and Oras, Eastern Samar.
