foreign judgment or final order require only proof of fact of such foreign judgment or
final order. Furthermore, the recognition of the foreign judgment of adoption is a
subsequent event that establishes a new status, right, and fact affecting petitioner. If
duly proven, the foreign judgment needs to be reflected in the Philippine civil registry.
WHEREFORE, the petition is GRANTED. The Orders dated November 21, 2013 and
April 23, 2014 of Branch 192, Regional Trial Court, Marikina City in JDRC Case No.
2013-2279-MK are REVERSED and SET ASIDE. The Regional Trial Court is ORDERED
to REINSTATE the petition for further proceedings in accordance with this Decision.
